Underground Conduit Placement

PVC and HDPE conduit, multi-duct bundles, direct-bury and encased runs — bored where you need them across the Carolinas.

Sloan Underground Construction has been placing underground conduit across the Carolinas since 1965. Conduit is the protective pathway for electric, telecom, fiber, and future utilities. Installing it at the right time — during new construction or a planned site project — is dramatically cheaper than boring after paving, landscaping, or structures are in place. We bore PVC, HDPE, and multi-duct bundles trenchless along your planned route.

Why install empty conduit now?

Future-proofing. A 2-inch spare conduit placed during a new build or site project costs a fraction of retroactive work. Once the driveway is poured, the landscape matured, or the road resurfaced, a single road bore can run $5,000+ — money you save by placing the conduit up front.

Conduit Types We Install

Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 PVC cover most residential electric and communications runs. HDPE in 1.25-inch through 4-inch diameters is the go-to for fiber, telecom, and buried service laterals. Multi-duct bundles let us place four, six, or eight ducts in a single bore for backbone and distribution routes. For road crossings and critical infrastructure we place encased conduit or larger-diameter casing per spec.

Bore it once, use it forever.

How a Conduit Run Comes Together

01

Spec Review

Confirm conduit type, diameter, depth, count, and route with your engineer, electrician, or project manager.

02

811 & Permits

Call Before You Dig, verify existing utilities, and handle any road-crossing or right-of-way permits.

03

Bore & Pull Duct

Drill pilot, ream to size, pull the PVC, HDPE, or multi-duct bundle through the bore.

04

Cap, Tag, Document

Cap conduit, mark ends, GPS-tag, and provide as-builts for handoff to the electrical or telecom crew.

Conduit FAQs
You asked, we answered

Common Questions About Conduit Placement

What types of conduit do you install?

Schedule 40 and Schedule 80 PVC for electric and communications; HDPE from 1.25-inch through 4-inch for fiber and telecom; multi-duct bundles for high-count backbone; and encased conduit under roads or critical infrastructure.

Why install empty conduit now?

Future-proofing. Installing spare conduit during a planned project costs a fraction of retroactive work. A 2-inch spare now saves a $5,000+ road bore or hardscape destruction later.

Can you install conduit for a solar array or EV charger?

Yes. We bore conduit for ground-mount solar arrays, EV charging infrastructure, and detached-building power. We coordinate sizing with your electrician or solar installer before the bore.

Do you bore under roads for conduit?

Yes. Road crossings are one of HDD's strongest use cases. We bore conduit under state, municipal, and private roads at spec depth and handle permitting and right-of-way coordination.
